2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO PROPOSING AN
AMENDMENT OF THE CHARTER OF SAID CITY RELATING TO THE SALARY OF
3 THE MAYOR
4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. Recitals.

( a) In accordance with the Constitution of the State of
7
California, the City of San Bernardino, a municipal corporation,
8
has adopted a Charter.
9
(b) The Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
10
Bernardino desire to submit to the electors the Charter Amendment
11 set forth in this resolution.
12 SECTION 2. Submittal to Electors.

The following proposed amendment to the Charter of the City
14
of San Bernardino is submitted to the qualified electors of the
15
City of San Bernardino for their approval or rejection at the
16
consolidated municipal election to be held on Tuesday, November 8,
17
1994.
18 PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT NO.
15 It is proposed that Section 24 of the Charter of the City of
20 San Bernardino be amended to read as follows:

"Section 24. Salary of Mayor.
22 The Office of Mayor shall be a full-time position and the
23 incumbent shall not engage in any business, professional or
24 occupational activities which interfere with the discharge of the
25 duties of such office. The salary of the Mayor shall be at an
26 amount equal to that set for Chief of Police pursuant to Section
27 186 of this Charter. The initial change in salary provided by

4 this Section shall apply only at the conclusion of the current

office, whichever comes first. ”
