Synopsis of Previous Council action:
Recommended motion:
In view of the ambivalence expressed by the City Attorney with regard to
enforcement of the newly enacted S.B. Smoking Ordinance M.C. 905 and the 1
fact that a state-wide smoking ordinance becomes effective beginning next
year, a motion is made to accord voluntary compliance status to the S.B.
Smoking Ordinance until January 1 , 1995.
The effect of this measure should address the complaints of those local
establishments claiming an erosion of business due to the proximity of '
surrounding communities which are currently smoking permissive.
