A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL
YOUTH ACCOUNTABILITY BOARD
WHEREAS, the County of San Bernardino Probation Department and the City of San Bernardino
have implemented a program for first time youth offenders; and
WHEREAS, on September 6, 1994 the Mayor and Common Council voted in favor of the
community service program; and
WHEREAS, said Mayor and Council and subsidiary districts have been requested by the San
Bernardino County Probation Department and San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors to support
the Youth Accountability Board; and
-*- WHEREAS, neighborhood Ward identified Youth Accountability Boards will provide a plan for
youthful offenders, to be diverted from the court system and given an option of community service time
as sentenced by the Youth Accountability Board; and
WHEREAS, youthful offenders will be provided with an alternative of being accountable for
their behavior by providing a reasonable alternative to probation or criminal records; and
WHEREAS, youthful offenders will gain a more positive attitude toward their community and
be accountable for their actions,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of San Bernardino will support and
participate in the Youth Accountability Board program.
