(near San Francisco) and moved to San Bernardino at a very young age. go
She attended Emmerton Elementary School, Rodriquez PREP Academy,
San Andreas High School and will graduate from San Gorgonio High 16
i
School in May 2016. 16
Her parents, Guillermo and Marcela Garcia are the owners of go
La Estrella Bakery in Colton. Her sister, Adriana, is in the 1 0th grade at go
San Gorgonio High School. Georgina and her family love dogs. They
have three Chihuahuas (Lava Girl, Snowflake & Electra), two
Rottweilers (Cherry '& Prince), and one Shih Tzu (Chiquita). Georgina
works in the bakery as a cashier when she is not doing her schoolwork,
helping with the dogs, and doing her personal chores.
Georgina likes soccer but does not play sports at school. She is
learning to play the guitar at her church, Iglesia Celebracion. She is a
fluent Spanish speaker and her favorite subject is Math. 16
Georgina plans to begin her higher education at San Bernardino
Valley College and major in accounting so that she open her own
business as well as assist the family with the record/bookkeeping
reports.
Georgina wants all of our students to know the importance of not
giving up.

ON HER
RETIREMENT
Whereas, Mrs. Lynda Savage grew up in San Bernardino, attended local schools, and returned
to the area to establish her professional career and raise her family. Lynda taught school for ten (10)
years. Lynda's involvement and active leadership in the community ranges from Education to the Law.
Lynda has been very instrumental to San Bernardino maintaining its civic culture and pride; and
Whereas, Lynda is a lifelong resident in the City of San Bernardino. She believes in public
education. Lynda, her husband, Philip and both of her children received their education in ,
San Bernardino public schools where she and her family graduated from San Bernardino high schools.
Lynda was educated in San Bernardino from kindergarten through Pacific High School. Lynda received
her Associate of Arts degree from San Bernardino Valley College. Lynda graduated from San Diego
State University and taught in public schools for 10 years -- 4 in San Bernardino. Lynda has been
elected to the San Bernardino Unified School District School Board 6 times; and
Whereas, Lynda is a leader.. Shq has served as president of the School Board, the
San Bernardino Assistance League, Arrowhead United Way, Tachikawa-San Bernardino Sister City
Committee, Les Confreres, National Charity League, and others. Lynda's leadership decisions have
always been made in a positive and collaborative manner. Lynda's ernphasis has been on the Arts and
Music. She has a legacy of service to our city and SBCUSD community; and

Whereas, the San Bernardino Unified School District, as well as the entire
City of San Bernardino will be losing an immeasurable talented individual that can be mirrored by no,
one and who will be missed by all.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, on this occasion, and in appreciation of her dedication and
impressive contribution to the City of San Bernardino and its citizens, we, on behalf of the Mayor and
Common Council of the City of San Bernardino, do enjoin, commend, and offer our best wishes in he
retirement to
MRS. LYNDA K. SAVAGE
and we thank her for having an outstanding and exemplary record ofpublic service.
