Alicia Jimerson has been selected to fill a currently vacant position of Fire Dispatcher I/ E
Flex. This vacancy resulted from the resignation of Laurel Harden in October 2015. In
order to ensure that the Fire Communications Dispatch Center is properly staffed and to
minimize overtime expenditures, it is critical that this position be filled.

This vacancy resulted from the resignation of Luis Arroyo effective 10/19/2015. In order s
to ensure that the prompt delivery and retrieval of EMS, station and apparatus supplies,it

competitive testing process involving a written and oral examination and a background

Judy Croteau will fill the position of Community Risk Reduction Supervisor which has E
been left vacant since the promotion and subsequent resignation of Sarah Pearson to Fire
Marshal in May 2015. The Fire Department believes that starting Ms. Croteau's salary at
Step 6 is appropriate due to the knowledge, skills, and experience she brings to the
position. Ms. Croteau has been with the department for roughly twenty years and has
displayed strong leadership skills and a can-do attitude when given projects and work
processes. With the added loss of Sarah Pearson from the Fire Marshall position,the Fire
Department will rely more heavily on Ms. Croteau to perform extra duties.
Ms. Croteau is the top candidate selected having successfully completed a thorough
application screening and oral interviews. Ms. Croteau started with the department as a
Dispatcher I in 1996,promoted to a Dispatcher II in 1997. Ms. Croteau promoted to Fire
Prevention Officer in 2000,but has remained on staff as a part time Dispatcher as well.

Giordano effective November 1, 2015. In order to ensure that the station supervision and
emergency operations are adequately staffed,it is critical that this position be filled. a
Mr. Ray began his career with San Bernardino City Fire as a Firefighter in September
1999. He promoted to Paramedic/Firefighter in October 1999 and then to Fire Engineer
in February 2007. Mr. Ray is the next qualified candidate having successfully completed
a competitive testing process including a written, oral and tactical exercise. Mr.Ray is
well qualified to fill this position and will continue to be a valuable asset to Fire
Operations.

Compensation and Liability). Genevieve has worked in the City of San s
Bernardino Human Resources Department for over a year as both an unpaid and
paid intern. She recently graduated from Cal State University of San Bernardino a
with a degree in Business Administration, concentration in Human Resources.
Her work experiences in the Human Resources Department, both in risk and
personnel together with her degree, makes her an excellent candidate for this
provisional assignment. Her appointment as a Human Resources Technician will
be under filling the vacant Administrative Claims Specialist position.
