Description) Civic & Promotion Fund Finance: Council Notes: 75 n262 Agenda Item No._ 7 CITY OF SAN BERNA DINO - REQUEST 0CD COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT The City of San Bernardino has been contributing the sum of $3, 500 to the Western Region Little League Baseball Tournament, on an annual basis, for a number of years. This financial assistance has gone to help defray the costs associated with team transportation. During the preparation of the FY 1993-94 Budget, the decision was made to appropriate monies in the General Government account for the categories of fine arts and civic and promotion activities only. Specific line item account numbers were deleted. On July 12 , 1993 , $317 , 000 was appropriated to Fine Arts and Civic and Promotion. This is a request to appropriate $3 ,500 from the Civic and Promotions accounts to help defray the costs of team transportation for the 1993 Western Region Little League Baseball Tournament to be held August 10 through 19, 1993 . 75-0264 LITTLE LLAUE BASEBALL. We would appreciate a letter of welcome and a picture from you for insertion into our Tournament Program Book. We have greatly appreciated the support from the City Council in the amount of $3 , 500 . 00 annually, to defray the cost of the following activities for which I am again respectfully requesting your assistance for 1993 . Team transportation (to and from the airport-various arrival times ) . Get Acquainted Picnic , (Monday evening, August 9 , feeding approximately 600 guests) . Mayor Minor, I believe that from the many accolades received from visitors to the Regional Tournament , this event is one of the top sporting events in the Inland Empire, and we are again anticipating a crowd of 50 to 60 thousand spectators from throughout the 13 Western States . Please accept our sincere thanks for the outstanding support we have received in the past and that you will look favorably on this request .
