STAFF REPORT
Since 1980, the City has permitted Cal Trans employees access to
the Animal Shelter freezer for the purpose of depositing carcasses
removed from the state roadways. Cal Trans deposit approximately 30
dead animals per month, a small fraction of the 1400 dead animals
from all other sources. The present cost of the department's dead
animal disposal is $900 per month for D & D Disposal (although it
is subject to increase in FY 94) . This does not include electricity
or staff time.
The monthly fee for Cal Trans FY 93 was $42 . 00 per month. The
recommended fee for FY 94 is $50. 00 per month.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY O
5 SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
6 SECTION 1. The Mayor of the City of San Bernardino is hereb
7 authorized and directed to execute on behalf of said City a
8 Agreement with the State of California Department of Transportatio
9 for the disposal of animal carcasses from state highways in the Sa
10 Bernardino area, a copy of which is attached hereto, marked Exhibit
11 "A" and incorporated herein by reference as fully as though set fort
12 at length.
13 SECTION 2 . The authorization to execute the above reference
14 agreement is rescinded if the parties to the agreement fail t
15 execute it within sixty (60) days of the passage of this resolution.

17 by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino at

currently being processed. In order to execute this contract you
must sign your name and enter your title or position, in ink, on
Sheet 1 of all six copies of the contract. Please return these
signed contract sheets, along with Certification of Insurance to
this office within eight working days after receipt of this
letter.
State and Federal tax laws requires vendors to report
payments income accurately and in a timely manner on Vendor Data
Record (Std. 204) . This form is designed to allow vendors to
self report information needed for accurate and complete
reporting of vendor payment income. Completion of this form is
required by all vendors providing goods and/or services to the
State of California and contracts will not be executed without
this document.
This contract is not yet in effect, and no work is to be
performed until an approved copy has been furnished to you.
