Recommended motion: That the Mayor and Common Council accept the report entitled "Noise Assessment Study of 'Spirit' Baseball Games, " submitted by J.J . Van Houten and Associates, Inc. and further, that the Mayor and Common Council consider the oral presentation to be made by representatives of J.J. Four sound consultants were contacted and the firm of J.J. Van Houten and Associates, Inc. was selected. The noise assessment conducted by J.J . Van Houten and Associates, Inc. consisted of these elements: obtaining noise assessments, establishing appropriate noise control standards, identifying standards as they relate to annoyance at community locations near the ball park and to recognized noise regulations, assessing the impact, indicating methods by which noise levels may be reduced to legal standards, and methods by which community annoyance may be reduced or eliminated, and pro- viding recommendations concerning actions which should be taken by the city. The preliminary report required by the agreement has been reviewed and the final report has now been completed. Representatives of J.J. Van Houten and Associates, Inc. are now ready to present the report to the Mayor and Common Council .
