Attention: Mr. Ray Swietzer
Dear Mr. Swietzer:
I am writing to reconfirm the items discussed concerning the fees
charged to the public for the use of the pistol range at Perris
Hill Park.
On December 9, 1987 a meeting was held at City Hall that included
representatives of Parks and Recreation Department, Building and Safety
Department, Police Department, representatives of the city and represen-
tation from several community groups. One of those community groups
represented the Elks Pistol Team which consists of fifty members.
During that meeting each community group expressed their concerns over
the fees charged for shooting and the times that the range was available
for public use. It was my understanding at the end of the meeting that
the general agreement between representatives of the city and community
groups was as follows: (1) A one year pass would increase from $30.00
to $50.00. (2) The daily charge for the range use would be increased
from $3.00 to $4.00 for Senior and Junior shooters.
Thank you for your concerns in this area. The Perris Hill Shooting Range
has been a very vital part of the recreational program in the city for
the past thirty years. I would hope that the fees established for the
public would be set at an affordable level for all citizens to be able to
continue the use of the range. I look forward to the continued support
of the city council in this matter.
Yours Truly,,
gam`
