Recommended motion:
That Change Order No . Two to the contract with
Martin Jaska , Inc . for the construction of a Fire
Station at Tri -City Complex , be approved ; authorizing
the Contractor to install an air compressor, painted
steel door in lieu of aluminum, install wrought iron
panels in wall , change lights and signs , for a net
cc : Ray Schweitzer increase in the contract price of $3 , 118 . 00 , from
Craig Graves $781 ,513 .00 to $784 ,631 . 00 .

STAFF REPORT
An air compressor was not included in the final contract
documents even though one has been requested by the Fire Depart-
ment . The compressor will be used to inflate tires and for
cleaning and drying . The Contractor has agreed to install the
air compressor complete and in place for $2 ,975 .00 .
As a cost reducing measure , the architect has approved a
change to the specifications , from an aluminum roll -up door to a
painted steel door . The Contractor has agreed to deduct $1 ,200 . 00
for this change .
The Fire Department has requested that wrought-iron panels
be placed within the perimeter block wall , in order to increase
visibility , thereby decreasing theft and vandalism . This item
was included as an Additive Alternate , but not included in the
contract award . The Contractor designated a price in the bid of
$7 , 143 . 00 to provide the wrought iron panels .
As a cost reducing measure , the architect has proposed
deleting 3 light standards , the monument sign and lights , flag-
pole lights , and adding two ( 2 ) wall pak lights , a 1" conduit for
a future fuel tank , and molded plastic letters for a sign on the
building . The Contractor has agreed to perform these items for
a net deduction of $5 ,800 . 00 .
Contract Change Order No . Two would result in a net in-
crease in the contract price of $3 , 118 . 00 , from $781 , 513 . 00 to
$784 ,631 . 00 . The project funding contains $45 ,987 . 00 for
contingencies , which can be used to finance this change order .
We recommend that Change Order No . Two be approved .
