Ann Siracusa Director of Planning City of San Bernardino 300 No. "D" Street San Bernardino, Calif. 92418-0212 Re: Review of Plans 86-51 Dear Ms. Siracusa: As you will recall , this office and the undersigned represent Stubblefield Enterprises , Inc. in connection with the Mountain Shadows Villas, Review of Plans 86-51 . I have been notified that the issue of the "grandfather clause" for the new R-3 ordinance (MC-550) has been set on the City Council ' s agenda for January 4 , 1988 . I appreciate your assistance in securing this continuance since the notice we received of the matter had not been adequate to prepare the type of presentation which we believe is necessary. I was notified by Arnold and John Stubblefield today that they have attempted during this past week to set up a meeting with you to discuss certain matters prior to the City Council ' s consideration of the grandfather clause issue. They believe that such a meeting is extremely important. Apparently, due to the demands upon your current schedule, you could not meet this week and could not give any assurance that a meeting could be set for next week. Although Arnold Ms. R. Ann Siracusa December 18 , 1987 Page 2 Stubblefield was willing to stay over through Monday for such a meeting, he must be out of the state from Tuesday through the end of the year. For that reason, we are requesting two things: that a meeting be set with you for the week of January 4th (preferably on January 7th or January 8th) and that the matter on the "grandfather clause" be set over to the following City Council meeting which I understand is January 18 , 1988 . I spoke to Dennis Barlow in the City Attor- ney' s office this morning, and he stated that his office does not oppose such a continuance. I am also requesting that one additional item be placed on the City Council ' s agenda: this is the matter of the action of the DRC and ERC placing the Stubblefield Project "on hold. " We would like to take this matter to the City Council in order that we may urge the City Council that this Project be permitted to move forward. I believe it is important that this matter be placed on the agenda the same date as the grandfather clause issue. I will appreciate your assistance in responding to these items. Although a continuance was not what the Stubblefields ' desired, it appears that it will be necessary given your recent schedule and current demands. Thank you for your consideration to these matters. Very truly yours, DARLENE B. FISCHER OF HILL, FARRER & BURRILL DBF/sjb_/ cc: _,M16ssrs. John and Arnold Stubblefield Dennis A. Barlow, Esq.
