HomeMy WebLinkAbout2015-108 I RESOLUTION NO. 2015-108 2 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO IDENTIFYING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR FIRE 3 DEPARTMENT RESPONSE AWAY FROM THEIR OFFICIAL DUTY STATION 4 AND ASSIGNED TO AN EMERGENCY INCIDENT. 5 WHEREAS,the City of San Bernardino Fire Department is a public agency located in the County of San Bernardino, State of California; and 6 7 WHEREAS, it is the City's desire to provide fair and legal payment to all its employees for time worked; and 8 WHEREAS,the City has in its employ, Fire Suppression response personnel 9 including: Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, Battalion Chief, Fire Captain, Engineer, 10 Firefighter/Paramedic and Firefighter; and 11 WHEREAS, the City will compensate its employees portal to portal while in the course of their employment and away from their official duty station and assigned to an 12 emergency incident, in support of an emergency incident, or prepositioned for emergency 13 response; and 14 WHEREAS,the City will compensate its employees overtime in accordance with their current Memorandum of Understanding, or other imposed terms in the absence of a 15 Memorandum of Understanding, while in the course of their employment and away from their official duty station and assigned to an emergency incident, in support of an emergency 16 incident, or prepositioned for emergency response. 17 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND 18 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: 19 SECTION 1. Personnel shall be compensated according to the Memorandum 20 of Understanding, Personnel Rules and Regulations, and/or other directives that identify 21 personnel compensation in the workplace. 22 23 SECTION 2. The City of San Bernardino will maintain a current salary 24 survey or acknowledgment of acceptance of the "base rate" on file with the California 25 26 Governor's Office of Emergency Services, Fire Rescue Division. 27 28 1 1 SECTION 3. Personnel will be compensated portal to portal beginning at the 2 time of dispatch to the return to jurisdiction when equipment and personnel are in service and 3 available for agency response. 4 SECTION 4.
