Resolution of the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino Amending
Resolution No. 655 Entitled, in Part, "A Resolution...Designating Certain Streets or
Portions Thereof as through Highways and Establishing a One-Way Stop at the
Intersection of Fremontia Drive and Valencia Avenue." (#3669)

Financial Impact:
The total estimated costs for this project is $400.00. Tthe funding will come from fund
126 Highway Users Tax Account.
Motion: Adopt the Resolution.
Synopsis of Previous Council Action:
None.
Background:
The City's Public Works Department received a request to install a one-way stop at the
intersection of Valencia Avenue and Fremontia Drive. This is a "T" type intersection that
is currently uncontrolled.
Traffic Engineering staff evaluated the intersection including collision history, traffic
volumes and road conditions in accordance with the California Manual on Uniform
Traffic Control Devices (CA MUTCD). Based upon this evaluation, staff has determined
that traffic safety will be enhanced by the installation of a one-way stop at this
intersection. This action will improve right-of-way control at the intersection.
Staff recommends that the attached Resolution be approved authorizing the installation
of a stop sign on the eastbound approach to the intersection of Valencia Avenue and
Fremontia Drive.
