• Mr. Aschenbrenner meets the requirements for an Engineering Assistant I, and
has been employed by the City of San Bernardino as a Survey Party Technician
I/II (Flex) since June, 2006. The position became vacant with the departure of an y
existing employee on February 4, 2015, and it needs to be filled to assist in the Q
delivery of budgeted capital projects and to accommodate an increasing demand
for permits related to land development and utility work. E

• It is critical to fill this position in order to deliver budgeted capital projects as well a
as the need to support recent increases in construction activities by developers and
utilities. If the position is not filled, it will impact the delivery of capital projects
and it will reduce the service levels for developers and utilities requesting permits.
The City recovers the cost of this position through permit fees, utility franchise
fees,and restricted capital project funds.
