CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
The Rental Housing Program Budget provides for the acquisition of six (6) compressed natural
gas powered compact pick-up trucks for the San Bernardino Crime Free Housing Project.
Notices inviting bids for compressed natural gas powered compact pick-ups, Bid No. 95-19,
were published locally and bid packages were mailed to 40 vendors on the City's equipment
bidder's list. As advertised, sealed bids were opened on February 14, 1995 and the results of
the acceptable bids are summarized below for Council's review:
VENDOR LOCATION BID PRICE
Fairview Ford San Bernardino $119,292.18
The bid received from Fairview Ford in San Bernardino, $ 119,292.18, for six (6) compressed
natural gas powered compact pick-ups is the only bidder and meets the required specifications
and the needs of the department.
Purchasing and Public Services staff have evaluated the bids based on unit cost and conformance
to the bid specifications. Based on this evaluation staff is recommending that the bid from
Fairview Ford be accepted.
ORDERS MUST BE PLACED BY APRIL 1, 1995 TO TAKE DELIVERY
FOR PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION IN JUNE.
