EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION AWARD:
GENERAL CATEGORY:
Catherine Johnson as an Account Clerk II, in the Parks,
Recreation & Community Service Department, is the primary
accounts person for assuring that all postal service
transactions, checks, receipts, bank deposits, and other
records are properly accounted for and that revenue checks
from the utilities companies are in the proper account. Cathy
consistenly volunteers to do whatever it takes to keep the
administration and other functions of the department moving.
Cathy is an employee who is loyal to her department and can be
relied on to complete any task in an outstanding and
commendable manner.
SAFETY CATEGORY:
Daniel Keil is an extremely conscientious and dedicated
officer of the San Bernardino Police Department. He has been
a narcotic officer for the last four years and has been
assigned to the Inland Empire Clandetine Lab Task Force since
September 1990. He has been rated highly by his supervisors
from the State Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement and has
developed considerable expertise in the area of clandestine
drug labs. Dan will remain a valuable asset to the Police
Department in the area of drug investigations.
MID-MANAGEMENT CATEGORY:
Mr. Daniel Thomas is a Sanitation Route Supervisor, Public
Service Refuse Division. Daniel has worked very had to
develop and maintain the Refuse Division Safety Program for
two years, in response to complex and extensive new
regulations. His effort was recently commended by a CAL-OSHA
Inspector as the most complete and well documented program
found in the Inland Empire, whether public or private
employer.
MANAGEMENT-CONFIDENTIAL CATEGORY:
Margie Vance as the Mayor's Senior Secretary has many
responsibilities and the office is dependent on her
secretarial skills. She is a certified Bilingual Tester and
officiates in that capacity when testing prospect bilingual
police officers. She also utilizes her bilingual abilities to
handle citizen concerns. Margie possesses self-initiated
motivation, pride in her work and a keen desire for higher
education and is currently studying for a Bachelors Degree in
Business Administration at the University of Redlands.
