There are five streets that intersect 29th Street within this area including, Lugo Avenue,
Sepulveda Avenue, Wall Avenue, Leroy Street and Belle Street. All of these intersections are
currently uncontrolled.
Staff evaluated the intersections including collision history, traffic volumes and road conditions
in accordance with the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CA-MUTCD).
Staff determined that traffic operations would be enhanced with stop controls installed on the
northbound and southbound approaches to all the streets that intersect 29th Street between Sierra
Way and Waterman Avenue (see attached warrants). With approval of this item, a total of nine
approaches will have stop controls installed at a cost of approximately $5,400.00. Approval of
the attached Resolution will authorize this action.
