CITE' OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
The Planning and Building Department Rental Housing Division and the Police Department were
budgeted to purchase five (5) and one (1) compact pick-up truck or compact sedan respectively. Their
present assigned vehicles are recycled/refurbished police patrol units. The average of the accumulated
mileage for the six (6) vehicles is 105,000 miles. The cost of maintenance and operation has become
prohibitive on all six (6) vehicles and they are past their useful life.
Notices inviting bids for six (6) each 1996 compact pick-up trucks, Bid No. 96-21, were sent to
various vendors; six (6) sealed bids were received and were opened on January 17, 1996.
