Recommended Motion:
That Change Order No. Four to the contract with Bob Britton, Inc.
for expansion of Pioneer Cemetery, Phase I, in accordance with
Plan No. 8593 , be approved; to expand the scope of the contract
to include the remaining frontage along 7th St. , at an estimated
increase in the contract price of $92, 037 . 32; from $91 , 481 . 66 to
$183, 518 . 98 . :�7

STAFF REPORT
Expansion of Pioneer Cemetery
The expansion of Pioneer Cemetery was divided into two phases. A
contract has been awarded to Bob Britton, Inc. , for Phase I,
which is basically the northwest corner of Waterman Avenue and
Seventh Street.
There is a space of about 350 ' between Phase I and the original
portion of Pioneer Cemetery. This section was not included in
Phase I, due to the necessity to keep the Little League Baseball
field in operation. However, this field is no longer a factor,
since it has been taken out of service.
Change Order No. 4 will enlarge the scope of our contract with
Bob Britton, Inc. to include the remaining frontage along 7th
Street. The total estimated cost of Contract Change Order No. 4
is $92, 037 . 32. This estimate is based upon the low bid unit
prices, except for Rough Grading and Demolition of Existing
Facilities, which have been negotiated with the Contractor.
Supplemental funding, in the amount of $120 , 000, was provided at
the Commission meeting of 1-20-93 to finance the cost for the
extra work required to extend the improvements along the entire
frontage of 7th Street.
We recommend that Change Order No. 4 be approved.
URGENCY CLAUSE:
Approval of Change Order No. 4 is needed at the Commission
meeting of 2-15-93 , in order to allow the Contractor to continue
working and avoid the possibility of another move-in charge.
