Description) Little League Drive Box Culvert - Cable Creek Channel Finance•ozl?' Council Notes: 75-0262 Agenda Item No. .0? CITY OF SAN BERNAQDINO - REQUEST F_ q COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT The plans direct the Contractor to grade the bottom of the Cable Creek Flood Control Channel, downstream of the box culvert being constructed at Little League Drive. This work was necessary in order for the channel flowline to meet the invert elevation of the new box culvert. These plans were prepared in accordance with the San Bernardino County Flood Control District' s requirements. During the unusually heavy rain storms in January, the channel bottom eroded below the rail and wire revetments along both sides of the flood control channel. The District' s Inspec- tor has directed that 1/4 ton grouted rock slope protection be installed from the box culvert to a point 340 feet downstream, in order to provent further damage from future storm flows. The quantity of rock slope protection is estimated to be 182 tons. The Contractor has agreed to do this extra work for the lump sum of $8, 558. 55, which is based upon the bid price of $45/ton for grouted rock slope protection, plus 4j$ for another move-in. There is an available balance of $55, 824 . 25 in contin- gencies that can be used to finance the cost of this change order. Federal-Aid Bridge Replacement Fund will be used to finance 80% of the cost for this extra work. We recommend that Change Order No. Two be approved. 2-4-93 15-0264 0 CONTRACT CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 REV NO. SUPPL. NO. ROAD Box Culvert-Little League Drive SHEET 1 OF 1 FED NO.
