CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO — REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
Staff Report
SUBJECT:
Authorization to Proceed—proposed vacation of a portion of the North/South alley north of 20th
Street between Guthrie Street and Newcomb Street and Plan approval.
BACKGROUND:
On February 25, 2000, this office received a petition to vacate a portion of the north/south alley
north of 20th Street between Guthrie Street and Newcomb Street to construct off-street parking.
The developer is in the process of obtaining the property located on the east side of the 20-foot
alley, which is currently owned by the City of San Bernardino Economic Development Agency.
If authorization to proceed is given, all City departments, utilities and affected property owners
will be given mailed notice of the proposal and asked to comment on any conflicts.
The petitioner has paid $500, which represents the first half of the vacation processing fee. The
second half will be due after the investigative proceedings and prior to the legal proceedings.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None. The petitioner has paid the first half of the processing fee and will pay the second half
when it becomes due.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that authorization to proceed with the proposed vacation be given and that
Plan No. 10070 be approved.
