The elimination of two (2) Senior Assistant City Attorney positions and the City Attorney

approximately$236,623 for FY 2014/15.

Since November 16, 2013, a thorough review of office personnel was conducted in an effort to
provide more efficiency and continuity within the department, and also provide future cost
savings. 0

The position of Chief Assistant City Attorney will assume the duties and responsibilities of two C
(2) Senior Assistant City Attorneys, at which time the Senior Assistant City Attorney CU
classification will be eliminated.

The positions of City Attorney Administrative Supervisor (U) and Executive Assistant to the 7
City Attorney (U) have both been vacant since July 2012 and November 2013, respectively, and
have been filled through the"higher-acting"process since that time. E

As part of the restructuring of the department, it was decided to delegate the duties of this Q
position to the Executive Assistant to the City Attorney (U) and one (1) of the Legal Secretary 11
positions and eliminate the City Attorney Administrative Supervisor(U)position.
Assumption of the additional duties and responsibilities required revision to the Executive
t Assistant to the City Attorney (U)job description to reflect the supervisory/management duties,
and the establishment of a Legal Administrative Assistant(U) position since the additional duties
were not representative of the Legal Secretary II (U)position and job description.
