This position has been o vacant since April 7, 2014. N d 1. The Administrative Services Department, Finance Division, has been faced with N several significant challenges over the last two years. The loss of key finance staff a resulting in the vacancy of nine positions including the top four positions in the department along with several key accountants, including the Accounting Manager Which is now filled by the prior Principal Accountant. Lorena Gonzales has brought E critical complex government accounting experience to the City as a full-time employee. r 2. A significant issue that impacted the accounting staff two years ago was a new complex finance software system that was to be implemented within a very short time period and without the support of additional staff or outside technical support. This project, along with the filing of the bankruptcy, has put the staff and the City behind on many essential accounting functions and reports. Lorena has experience successfully implementing several complex finance software systems in two local cities and water agency.
