Synopsis of Previous Council Action: 12/07/13 Resolution No. 2009-367 was approved authorizing the City Manager to execute the agreement between the City of San Bernardino and Rehrig Pacific Company and issue an Annual Purchase Order in the amount of$369,000 for FY 09-10. Terms of the agreement comes with four (4) one-year extensions at the City's option: Option year 1, if exercised, shall be effective July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011; Option year 2, if exercised, shall be effective July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012; Option year 3, if exercised, shall be effective July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013; and Option year 4, if exercised, shall be effective July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014. Background: The Public Works Department, Integrated Waste Management Division, is responsible maintaining and supplying all single family residential households throughout the City. Currently, many single family households are in need of new residential refuse carts due to damage, theft, misplacement and new tenants/homeowners. Additionally, as part of new California Legislation that was passed on November 4, 2013, all multiple dwellings must comply with AB341 recycling. This purchase will provide recycling containers to these accounts. Rehrig Pacific Company was selected through a formal multiple quote bid process to supply the City of San Bernardino with Automated Carts for Residential Refuse Service throughout the City. Rehrig Pacific Company possesses a business registration certificate pursuant to Chapter 5 of the Municipal Code, and any other license, permits, qualifications, insurance and approval of whatever nature that is required of a vendor to practice its business or profession. In order to keep the supply of residential refuse carts staff is requesting that Purchase Order No. 2014- 00000467 to Rehrig Pacific Company be increased by$131,000.
