retirement is effective May 1, 2014.
- The position is critical to fill due to span of control and management of personnel;
completing necessary staff work; and to effectively meet the goals of the fire department.

Examples:
This position was vacated in March 2014 based on a termination. Mr.Lindbeck
has both Automotive and Heavy Truck A.S.E. certificates and has experience
working with military heavy/speciality equipment. o
- Equipment Mechanic I is the entry-level class in the Equipment Mechanic series
which performs semi-skilled duties/repairs, and are under direct supervision to
learn and perform a varitety of repairs. This allows the Equipment Mechanic Il w
to perform the more skilled duties/repairs on the specialized heavy equipment. a
- How would holding the vacancy impact City/Community services?
Heavy Vehicle down time would be lengthier,becaused shortage of Equiment
Mechanic I to perform the simi-skilled repairs. Equipment Mechanics II would
be pulled from the complex repairs to complete minor repairs. Vehicle down time
disrupts scheduled city services such as sweeping, refuse service and park
maintenance for city services.
