Synopsis of Previous Council Action:
On September 3, 1991, the Mayor and Common Council approved salary increases for Senior
Nutrition Program employees.
On September 2, 1997, the Mayor and Common Council approved amendment to Resolution
6413, Section Thirteen, Temporary/Part-Time Employees.
Recommended Motion:
* Approve salary increases for the following Senior Nutrition positions, retroactive to
September 1, 1997: Food Service Worker II (1) from ($1,156.13/mo to $1,213.33/mo);
Food Service Supervisor I (1) (from $1,313.87/mo to $1,379.73/mo); Food Service
Supervisor II (1) (from $1,717.73/mo to $1,804.40/mo).
* Direct the Personnel Department to update Resolution 6413, Section Thirteen, to reflect
this particular action.

CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
BACKGROUND
Annie Ramos, Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services, has requested salary
increases for the following full-time Senior Nutrition Program positions:

The County of San Bernardino Department of Aging and Adult Services provides grant monies
for the Senior Nutrition Program. The proposed salary increases have been budgeted in the
approved 1997-98 Senior Nutrition Program budget.
Annie Ramos is requesting that the proposed salaries be effective retroactively to September 1,
1997. The new pay rate and all retroactive adjustments are included in the 1997-98 program
budget.
The net cost of the salary increase for the time period September 1, 1997 through June 30, 1998
is:
Food Service Supvr II $867
Food Service Supvr I $659
Food Service Worker II $572
Total Salary Cost $2,098
11.644% Benefits 244
$2,342
The last salary increase for these positions was in September 1991.
There will be no impact to the City's General Fund because these positions are grant funded.

RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the foregoing, recommendations include:
* Approve salary increases for the following Senior Nutrition positions, retroactive to
September 1, 1997: Food Service Worker II (1) from ($1,156.13/mo to $1,213.33/mo);
Food Service Supervisor I (1) (from $1,313.87/mo to $1,379.73/mo); Food Service
Supervisor II (1) (from $1,717.73/mo to $1,804.40/mo).

this particular action.
