STAFF REPORT
Bids for this project were received and opened on November
4 , 1997 , at 2 :00 p.m. A total of 5 bids were received, ranging
from $63 , 065 . 00 to $95 , 592 . 00 . The low bid of $63 , 065 . 00 is
17 . 33% below the Engineer' s Estimate of $74 ,000 . 00 for the Basic
Bid plus the Additive Alternate. The basic bid was for signals
at two locations along 5th Street and at 6th and "F" Streets,
with the Additive Alternate adding the intersection of 5th Street
and Arrowhead Avenue. Generally, the project consists of adding
pedestrian push buttons and auditory signals for the visually
impaired and additional signal heads at some locations.
Listed below is the estimated project cost based upon the
actual low bid price for the construction of both the basic
contract and the Additive Alternate:
