Synopsis of Previous Council Action:
On March 15, 2011, the Personnel Committee approved the recommendations to implement
personnel actions.
Mayor and Common Council approved the Community Development Department public
counter improvements and authorized the City Manager to implement the program and refer
all personnel items to the Personnel Committee for review.
Recommended Motion:
1. Delete the following:
— One Senior Administrative Assistant, Range 1400, $3,264 - $3,967/month
2. Reclassify:
— Two Customer Services Representative positions, Range 1350, $2,543 -
$3,092/month to
— Two Development Services Technicians, Range 1410, $3,431 - $4,170/month
3. Authorize two part-time Office Assistant positions, Range 1330, $2,302 - 2,798/month
4. Transfer funding and positions from the Fire Dept. t Co ity Dev op ent for two
Code Enforcement Officer II positions.

STAFF REPORT
Subject:
Approval of the Community Development Department Public Counter improvements personnel
actions.
Background:
On March 7, 2011 the Mayor and Common Council approved the Community Development
Department public counter improvements and authorized the City Manager to implement the
program and refer all personnel items to the Personnel Committee for review. In order to
streamline services, eliminate redundancies and reduce wait time, staffing changes will be made
in order to right-size counter services.
Financial Impact:
There will be a$0 net financial impact to the General Fund for the implementation of the
Community Development Department public counter improvements.
Recommendations:
1. Delete the following:
— Senior Administrative Assistant, Range 1400, $3,264 - $3,967/month
2. Reclassify:
