HomeMy WebLinkAbout2014-017 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2014-17 2 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF 3 ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES TO AMEND THE FY 2013-14 BUDGET BY 4 ALLOCATING PREVIOUSLY UNALLOCATED HUTA (GAS TAX) FUNDS OF $500,000 TO ACCOUNT 001-400-0088-5502 "PROFESSIONAL/CONTRACTUAL 5 SERVICES", AUTHORIZE THE EXECUTION OF A SECOND AMENDMENT TO AN AGREEMENT WITH CAL STRIPE, INC., AND ISSUE AN ANNUAL 6 PURCHASE ORDER IN THE AMOUNT OF $500,000 TO CAL STRIPE, INC., FOR 7 CITY-WIDE TRAFFIC STRIPING AND PAVEMENT MARKINGS. 8 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: 9 SECTION 1. The City Manager and the Director of Administrative Services are 10 11 hereby authorized and directed to amend the FY 2013-14 Budget to add previously 12 unallocated HUTA (Gas Tax) funds of $500,000 to Account 001-400-0088-5502 13 "Professional/Contractual Services" for city-wide traffic striping and pavement markings. 14 SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute a 15 Second Amendment to an Agreement with Cal Stripe, Inc., a copy of which is attached and 16 17 incorporated herein as Exhibit "A," in the amount of $500,000 with a one (1) one-year 18 extension at the City's option, for citywide traffic striping and pavement markings. 19 SECTION 3. The Director of Administrative Services or his designee is hereby 20 authorized and directed to issue an Annual Purchase Order in the amount of$500,000 to Cal 21 Stripe, Inc., which shall reference this resolution and shall incorporate the terms and 22 23 conditions of this Agreement. 24 SECTION 4. SAENZ, 27 City Attorney 28 By: , r A., ■ 2014-17 SECOND AMENDMENT TO ANNUAL CITYWIDE MAINTENANCE SERVICES CONTRACT WITH CAL STRIPE,INC., FOR TRAFFIC STRIPING AND PAVEMENT MARKINGS This Second Amendment to Annual Citywide Maintenance Services Contract with Cal Stripe, Inc., for Traffic Striping and Pavement Markings is entered into this 6th day of January, 2014, by and between Cal Stripe, Inc. ("VENDOR") and the City of San Bernardino ("CITY"). WITNESSETH: WHEREAS, the Mayor and Common Council has determined that it is advantageous and in the best interest of the CITY to contract for Citywide Traffic Striping and Pavement Markings; and WHEREAS, VENDOR was the lowest responsible bidder for Annual Citywide Maintenance Services Contract for Traffic Striping and Pavement Markings (2011-2012) Special Provisions No. 11320 and was awarded a contract by the Mayor and Common Council on November 7, 2011 by Resolution 2011-29, in the amount of $200,000 for FY 11/12 ("Agreement"); and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Common Council authorized the First Amendment to Annual Citywide Maintenance Services Contract with VENDOR on January 22, 2013 to extend the term for up to three (3) years with annual one-year renewals to be exercised at the sole discretion of the CITY, and to increase the payment to VENDOR up to the amount of $200,000; NOW, THEREFORE,the parties hereto agree as follows: 1. The Agreement is hereby amended to increase the payment to VENDOR up to the amount of$500,000. Exhibit"A" 1 2014-17 2.
