(#2819) Current Business Registration Certificate: Not Applicable Financial Impact: The overall Charter 186 financial impact for the Fire Management group will result in an increase of$13,803.31 to the General Fund. Motion: Adopt the Resolution. Synopsis of Previous Council Action: On March 18, 2013, the Mayor and Common Council approved the establishment of salaries for Fire Department Ranges P-5 (Battalion Chief), P-6 (Deputy Fire Chief) and P-7 (Fire Chief), effective August 1, 2012. BackEround: Section 186 of the City Charter established a formula for setting salaries for local safety members, effective August 1 of each year. An agreement was reached with the Fire Management Unit for the 10 cities to be used for this year's calculation. The salaries of those 10 cities have been averaged to determine the salaries for 2013 Fire Management classifications. The 10 cities agreed upon for classifications P-5, P-6 and P-7 are: Antioch Orange Corona Oxnard Costa Mesa Salinas Garden Grove San Buena Ventura Ontario Torrance 2013 MONTHLY SALARIES Effective August 1, 2013, the new monthly salaries for P-5, P-6 and P-7 are: CURRENT NEW CLASSIFICATION MONTHLY SALARY MONTHLY SALARY P-5/Battalion Chief $12,117.30 $12,202.90 P-6/Deputy Fire Chief $14,346.50 $14,399.20 Updated: 12/11/2013 by Jolena E. Grider C 5.O.a I RESOLUTION NO. 2 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO TO ESTABLISH SALARIES FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT RANGES P-5 3 (BATTALION CHIEF), P-6 (DEPUTY CHIEF), AND P-7 (CHIEF) EFFECTIVE AUGUST 1, 2013. 4 WHEREAS, San Bernardino City Charter Section 186 requires an annual survey 5 6 and adjustment of salaries for safety officers. 7 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON s COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: 9 SECTION 1: Salaries for Fire Department Ranges P-5 (Battalion Chief), co 10 $12,202.90 per month; P-6 (Deputy Chief), $14,399.20 per month; and P-7 (Chief) _ E 11 $16,710.90 per month; is hereby established, effective August 1, 2013; and c 12 SECTION 2: The Human Resources Division Manager is authorized to amend L 13 Resolution No. 6429 to reflect this action; and `- o 14 N SECTION 3: The Director of Administrative Services is authorized to amend th 15 FY 2013/14 budget to reflect this action.
