HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-314 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2011-314 2 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN 3 BERNARDINO RECITING THE FACTS OF THE PRIMARY MUNICIPAL 4 ELECTION HELD ON THE 5th DAY OF NOVEMBER 2013, DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF, CALLING THE RUN-OFF ELECTION FOR MAYOR AND 5 WARD 4 COUNCIL FOR FEBRUARY 4, 2013 AND SETTING FORTH SUCH OTHER 6 MATTERS AS ARE ALLOWED BY LAW. 7 WHEREAS, A Primary Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of San 8 Bernardino on the 5th day of November, 2013; and 9 WHEREAS, a notice of said election was duly and regularly given in the time, form 10 and manner as provided by law; voting precincts were properly established; election officers 11 12 were appointed and in all respects said election was held and returns made and declared in the 13 time, form, manner as required by the provisions of the Charter of the City of San Bernardino 14 and the Elections Code of the State of California for the holding of public elections in the City 15 of San Bernardino; and 16 17 WHEREAS, Pursuant to Resolution No. 2013-181, adopted on June 17, 2013, the 18 Registrar of Voters of the County of San Bernardino canvassed the returns of said election and 19 has certified the results of this election and said results are received, attached and made a part 20 hereof as Exhibit"A"; and 21 WHEREAS, the Common Council, on November 4, 2013, approved the procedure for 22 23 conducting a special election on February 4, 2014 to fill the vacancy in the Fifth Ward, hold the 24 election in conjunction with any run-off election required from the Primary Municipal Election, 25 and authorized prepayment of the costs estimated for both elections; 26 /// 27 28 /// 1 2013-314 1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: 2 3 SECTION 1: That there were 166 precincts established at 27 polling places for the 4 purpose of holding said election. 5 6 SECTION 2: That said Primary Municipal Election was held for the purpose of 7 electing the Mayor, and Council Members in the First, Second and Fourth Wards. 8 SECTION 3: That the total of all votes cast, out of 78,118 voters registered in the City 9 of San Bernardino, in said election was 13,362, including 8,823 vote by mail ballots, for a 10 11 turnout of 17.10%.
