offer is made based upon your successful completion of the following requirements:
PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION:
A psychologist, chosen by the City of San Bernardino, will conduct a psychological evaluation to determine
your psychological fitness for the position of Dispatcher I pursuant to California State Law.

Justification/Reason for Request
This position was vacated by the resignation of Elva Vizcaino,effective March 15,2013.
The payroll technician position is crutial to the timely processing of the City's payroll,
therefore,the absence of one employee is this division could affect required bank
obligation deadlines. In addition,the payroll division has been experiencing increased
activity within the last several years which includes the processing of MOU concessions,
public records requests,promotions, demotions and separations(i.e.,probationary
releases,reductions in force,resignations, and retirements).

payroll operations,combined with strict payroll deadlines,there exists an urgent and
critical need to have the duties and responsibilities performed by a qualified and trained

Former Animal Control Manager Sue Hoak retired on July 1, 2012. Recruitment
efforts to fill this position did not reveal a suitable replacement. In August 2012,
as a result of a workforce reduction at the Police Department, Debi Shuker's
position as Personnel & Training Manager was eliminated. Debi Shuker had the
option to bump another employee but instead accepted the position as interim
Animal Control Manager pending another recruitment effort. Following the most
recent testing, Debi Shuker was named to best suited candidate for Animal
Control Manager.

The Public Works Department is responsible for maintenance of the street and regulatory
signs throughout the City. The position of Lead Maintenance Worker/Signs was left
vacant when Sal Cortez left City employment in May 2013. The Public Works
Department would like to underfill this position with a Maintenance Worker I.
It is essential that the street and regulatory in the City be maintained to ensure the safety
