The Business Registration Division in the City Clerk's office is in need of filling the
position of Business Registration Inspector P/T. This position was vacated by Melody :
Gutierrez on 5/15/2013,pursuant to her letter of resignation.
We are in critical times and this position needs to be filled to maintain collections of
delinquent commercial and home based business accounts for the area south of 50 Street. Q
This inspector would also be responsible for collecting new revenue toward the general
fund. In additional to those tasks issuing"Notice of Violation"and"Administrative Civil
Penalties Notice and Order"to businesses in violation of San Bernardino Municipal Code
are required. Due to the amount of accounts and work needed to be completed in this
area it would be difficult to assign these tasks-to-the--ather_inspector-fmr-a^1ong-periW of
time.

If this position remained open it would cause a burden on collection efforts and delay
enforcement on delinquent accounts,which should be swift to collect on all that is owed
to the city prior to business closing.

After review, HR will confirm with the Finance Department that the position is vacant, y
funded, and approved to fill. Once Finance provides verification, HR will submit all
documents to the City Manager for approval. Once approved by the City Manager,
Human Resources and Civil Service will process for MCC approval. -
