HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-211 RESOLUTION NO, 2013-211 1 2 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF THE 2013-2014 3 FUNDING APPLICATION FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT, 4 EMERGENCY SOLUTIONS GRANT, AND HOME PARTNERSHIP ACT FUNDS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT. 5 WHEREAS, the City of San Bernardino ("City") receives an annual allocation of 6 Federal funds from the United States Housing and Urban Development Department (HUD) 7 for the purpose of implementing and administering the following programs: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG); HOME Investment Partnership Act (HOME); and 8 Emergency Shelter Grant(ESG); and 9 WHEREAS, these funds and programs are administered by the City of San Bernardino's City Manager's Office, Housing Division; and 10 11 WHEREAS, for the 2013-2014 Fiscal Year the City will receive $2,671,303 in CDBG funds, $836,147 in HOME funds, and $264,000 in ESG funds for a total of$3,771,450 in new 12 Federal funds; and 13 WHEREAS, as part of the requirements for receiving the above-mentioned funds, the 14 City has clearly outlined its planned use of the funds in the document, "2013-2014 Annual Action Plan." publicly noticed said plan for not less than thirty (30) days, and allowed for 15 public comments; 16 WHEREAS, on June 3, 2013, pursuant to Resolution 2013-104, the Mayor and 17 Common Council approved a portion of the 2013-2014 Annual Action Plan allocating $260,000 to Public Service Projects and $315,000 to Park Improvement Projects; 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON 19 COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, AS FOLLOWS: 20 Section 1. That the Mayor and Common Council hereby approves the "2013-2014 21 Annual Action Plan" in its entirety and appropriations, as noted below, shall be included in the Fiscal Year 2013-2014 Budget. 22 23 Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized, on behalf of the City, to execute and 21 submit to HUD, all appropriate documents and to take all necessary actions to implement the 22 City's 2013-2014 Annual Action Plan. 23 Section 6.
