A MARCUS COLEMAN PRODUCTION
November 2009
Dear Friend!
First and foremost we want to deeply state to you that we appreciate you taking the time to review our
"For His Glory"package with the objective to support and/or to assist with finding the right support for
this wonderful project.
To begin,there are objectives:
I. TO BRING THE INLAND CONSERVATORY FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER TO
SAN BERNARDINO
The Inland Conservatory For The Performing Arts Center is being homed in San Bernardino. In
fact, locations are being determined presently. This one of a kind school will be a Mon-Sat and
I Oam-8pm institution of musical development for all ages.
There will be quarterly performances and the "For His Glory" will be its flagship production
utilizing the skills from the students it has groomed!
The average class will be $250 per 10 week session for those that are serious about the
entertainment and performance arts industry.
There will be special programs for the seniors in the day time and after school programs for kids
in the communities to take them off the streets.
As you continue to read below, detailed information in enclosed.
2. TO ASSIST WITH THE PRODUCTION OF THE"FOR HIS GLORY,,MUSICAL
"For His Glory,is the flagship production from the Inlan d Conservatory For The Performing Arts
Center. It is a fundraiser to assist in scholarships for students, sponsorships of kids for the after
school program as well as the senior's daytime program
The production is scheduled to run every month in 6 local areas in California: San Bernardino,
Orange County, San Diego, Riverside, Los Angeles and back to San Bernardino. Each location
will be in theatres seating up to 2000 and will run for 3 days. We have chosen these ingredients
to secure a local presents within a community in need of this special program, to keep the cost
factors within our guidelines and to use this pilot model to progress to the next level of traveling
across the United States.
We know that one show costs an average of 80,000 and a 3 day run averages$120,000 by staying
within the boundaries we have already approved. There is no room to cut anywhere in the budget
due to the nature of the show and keeping it at the integrity of its purpose. In fact, these rates are
the very lowest because the goal of this production is to bring a message to communities of hope,
to rejuvenate young and old minds to dream again, to stir up the visions. TO CHANGE
OURSELVES WHICH THEN CHANGES OTHERS AND THEN OUR COMMUNITIES!
We also know that ticket sales alone will not cover the costs of the production even at an average
ticket sale of$30 especially since we give so many tickets away to various organizations AND.
we do not want to increase the tickets because it will eliminate markets of individuals ns really
want to reach.
The 3-day run will allow an average profit to the show of about $50,000. These funds are funds
needed to sustain the Inland Conservatory for the Performing Arts Center being homed in San
Bernardino!
Because of timing.. and because we need more people such as yourself to see "For His Glory",
we scheduled the only date available in December...the 13'and are waiting on the availability of
the next dates in Jan.2010
WE NEED ASSISTANCE!
The upcoming show is on Dec. 13`h at 6:00 pm. We know the budget is $80,000. We need
assistance that can come from several options:
a. The City of San Bernardino Partners with "For His Glory" and waives the location fees
reducing the budget by 10,000 on average.
b. Sponsors of the VIP Red Carpet Areas which averages about$8000
c. Underwriting the entire production by sponsoring portions or all of the budget
What is not clear is what options are avail from and we do not want to box anyone in where they can not
assist at any level so if you could communicate what and how you can participate we can maneuver
around that.
Thank you so much for your time...

The Inland Conservatory for the Performing Arts(ICPA) is a community-based school that provides
music, dance and drama training from introductory to advanced levels to students from ages preschool
through adult. Concerts of dance, drama and music performances
are offered to the public throughout the year. ICPA takes great
pride in our ability to help developing artists make remarkable
advances. One of our rimar -
P y goals is to provide all students of _ z_ '. .-,
music,dance,theatre arts and production techniques with a place i ' '
to learn and develop into artists. ICPA continually strives to draw
«a ►
out the creativity and passion of all through the arts.
The mission of the Inland Conservatory for the Performing Arts (ICPA) is to create an environment to
artistically educate, motivate and stimulate students to enhance and elevate their own creative
aspirations. We have created an academic, but more importantly a practical "Real-World" training
experience, ultimately flooding the creative arts community with experienced and fundamentally sound
artists and performers.
ICPA provides a faculty and support staff of people who are not just educated in their respective fields
but continue to operate professionally within those diverse fields.Consequently, our students gain more
than academic and theoretical knowledge but more of a realistic and practical experience. In addition,
ICPA is managed by a board of directors that are community leaders with the passion that assures the
continued success and integrity of the program is maintained: Margaret Hill, KimiRhochelle Porter,
Barbara Babcock, Erick Hall,John Futch, Marcus Coleman and Stephanie Congdon.
Our general curriculum is based on an open-ended matriculation system. Level 1 class is for
novice/beginner students. These classes are designed to give our students entry level instruction and
X basic foundational information. Level 2 is for our
intermediate students. Students must complete a
aft
comprehensive written exam proving that they posses a
solid foundation and sturdy information palette on which
4k
"i they could receive and excel in level 2 classes. Level 3 is our
most advanced level. Level 3 students are to apply their skill,
knowledge and experiences to the development of their own
individual artistry. These students will be ready to cope with
°real-world" situations and provide strong industry-standard
solutions. Students aspiring to matriculate to level 3 must complete a comprehensive written and
practical examination, proving that they posses a solid foundation and sturdy information palette on
which they could receive and excel in level 3 classes.
Audition and Placement
Prospective students who wish to study privately at the School
must contact the ICPA Office to begin the process. Typically,
an interview is required; the interview may include an
audition. The purpose of the interview and audition is to place
the student with the appropriate private teacher. Large and
small ensembles also require auditions.
Evaluation
Feedback as to a student's ability, achievement and motivation is a constant part of study at
ICPA. Often this feedback is given on an individual basis, is
some departments give
formal exams once or twice a year. These exams help to determine a student's strengths as well
as areas needing improvement, and are an incentive for further practice and achievement.
Students who do not progress appropriately may be counseled as to their need to apply
themselves. Consistent lack of progress may result in dismissal.
Recitals and Performances
The Inland Conservatory for the Performing Arts has a progressive series of performance opportunities
that together give students training in being both performers and audience. Note that students cannot
register for recitals. Faculty determines performance assi nments. Followin a
student's participation will be entered on the student's recordg g performance, the
Studio Recital
Studio recitals provide performance opportunities in an informal and supportive atmosphere that
allows beginning and elementary students to develop performance skills and stage deportment.
Honors Recital
Honors Recitals are held twice a year. Students
audition for a place on an Honors Recital program
The Executive Director makes the final selection from
" among those students auditioning. Selected students
will have demonstrated the very highest level of
,., proficiency and confidence in other public
. performances.
Other Performance Opportunities
Throughout the year, faculty may hold departmental workshops in which s tudents perform for
other students and teachers from different studios, and for guest teachers. Such worksho s are
organized by the students' levels of proficiency. Master classes with leading teaches and
performers are held throughout the year, and may feature national and international artists as
well as artist-teachers from our own faculty. The choice of student performers is made by
Executive Director. Such performance opportunities as workshops and master classes do not
require registration.

School of Theatre
Drama contributes in many different ways to a students learning
and to their personal and social development. At all stages,
drama offers opportunities to enter imaginatively into other
worlds, and to explore relationships from the point of view of
different people. At [CPA, students are challenged to develop
effective communication skills,to listen,to observe,to interpret
and analyze. The program begins with improvisation, body
movement and theater games, and progresses to monologue,
scene work, script analysis, and character development. The program strongly emphasizes process over
product, creating a learning environment in which students are free to explore,to take risks and to work
without fear of judgment. Its goal is to prepare each student for the experience of performing for an
audience.Ultimately, ICPA will produce theatrical productions through-out the year.
• Drama
■ Our drama program is designed to inspire the student who wishes to
develop a love and appreciation of the theatre. Classes are structured to
provide the student a basis in theatre skills, to offer a creative outlet, and
to produce well-rounded performers. The class is primarily performance-
based with the belief that students learn best while doing, rather than by
observing.
•
Acting Techniques
■ Creative dramatics, improvisation, auditioning, public speaking, voice and
movement, monologue and scene study, dialects, commercial work and
camera technique are all taught in this course,as well as the beginnings of
actor's preparation, inside out technique, creating the character, and
advanced vocal and movement work.
• Musical Theater
• Performance-oriented
workshop experience that
studies acting styles as
applied to a song.
• Imnrogn
■ This class is equally effective r
in giving a platform to those '
who want to polish their
comedic skills to a student
who simply needs to open
up and have more
confidence in their choices.
Learning the rules and the
different styles of improv can help sharpen creative instincts but also give
the young actor a great deal of confidence.
