HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-108 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2013-108 2 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN 3 BERNARDINO MODIFYING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT WITH RESPECT TO CARRY-OVER HOLIDAY HOURS FOR GENERAL UNIT 4 EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTED BY THE INTERNATIONAL UNION OF 5 OPERATING ENGINEERS (IUOE). 6 WHEREAS, the City of San Bernardino desires to increase General Unit carry- 7 over holiday hours for a period of time from the current 40 hours to 96 hours to accommodate General Unit employees who are having difficulty scheduling time off 8 due to departments being short staffed; and 9 WHEREAS, the City met and conferred with the General Unit by and through 10 the appropriate union representatives, complying with the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act. 11 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON 12 COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: 13 SECTION 1. The following terms and conditions of employment for General 14 Unit members represented by the International Union of Operating Engineers 15 ("IUOE") are approved for immediate implementation: 16 17 "Effective June 17, 2013, General Unit employees may carry over up to ninety- 18 six (96) hours of accrued holiday through June 30, 2014. Any holiday bank hours over ninety-six (96) at June 30th will be forfeited.
