Justification: M
Susanna Sandoval served as an Executive Assistant with the Police Department from 1-
w
25-05 to 12-10-12. She was demoted to a Dispatcher I position on 12-10-12 as a result of v
force reductions that took place late last year(she was bumped by a higher classification 2
employee in accordance with Civil Service Rules). She then competed in a process and c
was promoted into the department's Executive Assistant to the Director position on 2-5-
13. y
As an Executive Assistant she had reached step 21 on the salary scale($4,170 per
month). Her demotion to Dispatcher I placed her at step 21 in that salary scale($3,967). c
When she was promoted in February(2 months after her voluntary demotion)she was R
placed at step 11 ($4,179),virtually the same as her prior classification as an Executive In
Assistant but 5%over her Dispatcher salary. She has far more responsibility in her new
role than she had as an Executive Assistant and I feel that it is only fair that she be placed E
at a step 5%over her previous E.A. salary, this would be step 16($4,388)in the
ca
Executive Assistant to the Director salary range. Q
