Her current position is c CSO I, this following a demotion from CSO II in accordance with Civil Service Rule 511 `m following force reductions in 2012. She has competed in and qualified for a position as a ai Dispatcher I. There are multiple vacancies in the dispatch center; Sharon is filling a d position formerly held by Kelly Eckley(resignation),position control#30768-007. c a This action also includes a request that Sharon be promoted into pay step 21 as opposed r to step 6. Step 6 would normally be appropriate when moving into this classification from E a CSO I position. However, in the case of Sharon and another employee, they applied for this position when at the CSO II rank. They were demoted as a result of Civil Service actions/force reduction and at no fault of their own. The process to hire them for dispatcher positions took time because of the mandatory POST background process. I am requesting that they be moved into the pay step that they would have received if moving into this position from their previous position as CSO II's.
