City Attorney Review: Supporting Documents: Resolution 2302 (PDF) Updated:2/25/2013 by Jolena E.Grider '< 1 RESOLUTION NO. 6.Aa 2 3 RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO SETTING A POLICY FOR EVALUATIONS OF 4 DEPARTMENT HEADS BY THE CITY MANAGER AND A POLICY FOR SALARY s RANGES FOR INCOMING DEPARTMENT HEADS 6 WHEREAS, The Mayor and Common Council desire that Department Heads in the 7 City be evaluated annually; and 8 WHEREAS, The Mayor and Common Council would like to have input on objectives m 9 and goals for each department prior to the evaluation by the City Manager; and M 10 WHEREAS, The Mayor and Common Council desires to have input on salary ranges it for incoming department heads; m 11 N 0 12 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: N 13 v y 14 SECTION 1. The City Manager shall discuss with the Mayor and Common Council in o 15 M Closed Session objectives and goals for each department prior to evaluating the Department c 16 17 Head on an annual basis. 0 18 SECTION 2. The City Manager shall discuss the completed evaluation of the 0 19 department head with the Mayor and Common Council in Closed Session. The evaluations c 20 m shall be conducted in March of each year. s 21 R 22 SECTION 3. No new Department Head shall be hired at a salary above mid-range a 23 without council approval. New Department Heads shall be evaluated after six months and may 24 receive a salary increase at the end of said six months.
