We are a chartered little league consisting of 350+ kids. In our community, we are concerned about the challenges of its youth &for decades provided a well organized sports program for them, a program that ensures the fundamentals of right&wrong. We work hard to instill the values & message of the Little league Pledge in our youth, 1 trust in God. /love my country and will respect its laws. I will play fair and strive to win, but win or lose, I will always do my best." Therefore, at the request of our Board of Directors, we ask that the Junior Division Field be dedicated & renamed after a person who dedicated his life to such values & public service, Capt. Creighton (Creig) Nece, the San Bernardino City Fire Capitan that died last year, March 2, 2009, Capt. Nece dedicated his life to service. He served in the United States Army &was stationed in Gelnhausen, (West) Germany in the 709th MP Batallion. He was part of the Wildwood Little League family, when his nephew, Ryan Nece, former NFL Linebacker, played at Wildwood , & also his younger cousin, Cody Meister played at Wildwood. He began his firefighting career with the California Department of Forestry. He was a member of the"Del Rosa Hot Shots' as a Smoke Jumper. He was a 19 year veteran with the San Bernardino City Fire Department. As far as direct service to Wildwood Little League and Park, he went above & beyond the call of duty, "commading the troops' helping protect, not only Wildwood park, but the City of San Bernardino during the fire storms of 2003. After his passing, he left behind his wife and two adult children. He was so very well respected within the fire service community, but more importantly, he was loved and respected as a great man with tremendous integrity and character by all who knew him. We, the Wildwood Little League Board of Directors, wholeheartedly request, that the Junior Division Field be dedicated and renamed for Capt. Creighton (Creig) Nece, as a token of gratitude, honor, & integrity for his service to our community, for his service to all.
