0 STEVEN GUTIERREZ
Student — San Andreas High School
Steven Gutierrez resided in North Hollywood until he was four
years old. He moved with his family to Pomona where completed
kindergarten through most of the 3`d grade school year. They moved to
San Bernardino where he completed the remainder of elementary school.
Steven attended Arrowview Middle School where he was a part of the
JW Associated Student Body (ASB). From there, he began his high school
career at San Bernardino High School but at the end of his sophomore
year, he became a student at San Andreas High School where he
graduated December 14, 2012. Steven graduated from San Andreas
with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.6.
Steven's mom, Laura Garcia, works at SW Plastics in Ontario. His
brother, Jaime, is a graduate of Westwood College and his sister, Maria,
is a stay-at-home mom. His twin sisters, Natalie & Anahi, are in the 7th
grade at Richardson Prep Hi Middle School.
Steven has a nine-month old pit bull puppy named Summer. He
was involved in wresting while at San Bernardino High School and has
also trained in the martial arts.
Steven said what he likes the most about his school is the way
teachers explain things and kept it real, letting the students know they
are there to study and complete assignments. His favorite subject is
math. He would also like to have more activities for students, such as
sports, when asked what he would change about his school.
Steven wants to attend San Bernardino Valley College where he
plans to be on the honor roll in physics and math. After earning an AA
degree, he plans to transfer to Cal Poly Pomona where he will major in
engineering.
Steven wants to give this message to all students: "Stay in school
and if you can, do it right the first time. If you get a second chance,
don't mess it up. You can do anything you set your mind to".
