His brother, Jaime, is a graduate of Westwood College and his sister, Maria, is a stay-at-home mom. His twin sisters, Natalie & Anahi, are in the 7th grade at Richardson Prep Hi Middle School. Steven has a nine-month old pit bull puppy named Summer. He was involved in wresting while at San Bernardino High School and has also trained in the martial arts. Steven said what he likes the most about his school is the way teachers explain things and kept it real, letting the students know they are there to study and complete assignments. His favorite subject is math. He would also like to have more activities for students, such as sports, when asked what he would change about his school. Steven wants to attend San Bernardino Valley College where he plans to be on the honor roll in physics and math. After earning an AA degree, he plans to transfer to Cal Poly Pomona where he will major in engineering. Steven wants to give this message to all students: "Stay in school and if you can, do it right the first time. If you get a second chance, don't mess it up. You can do anything you set your mind to".
