HomeMy WebLinkAbout03.A- Presentations o(� �Q RESOLUTION OF THE XAYOR AND COAMON COUNCIL COII/ MMNNG NATIVE SONS OF T= GOLDEN WEST ARROWHEAD PARLOR INO. 110 ON72M 125TH ANNIVERSARY WHEREAS, Arrowhead Parlor No. 110 of the Native Sons of the Golden West was instituted on July 20, 1887 by 35 stalwart young men from San Berardino and has grown to now have a membership of over 340 men and women representing a broad spectrum of backgrounds, including many civic, business and professional leaders in San Bernardino and local areas; and WHEREAS, Arrowhead Parlor No. 110 is celebrating their 125th year of continued service to San Bernardino and the local community; and WHEREAS, Arrowhead Parlor No. 110 has worked to preserve California and local history, enrich the life of the community and region and provide support to the Inland Empire through civic and charitable activities; and WHEREAS, Parlor activities include celebrating Flag Day, Memorial Day, California Statehood Day and the recognition of local history through dedications of buildings, historic sites and landmarks; and WHEREAS, the Native Sons prouide ongoing support for education though a Fourth Grade Essay Contest and scholarships to deserving local students; and WHEREAS, the Native Sons give charitable aid through foundations for historical preservation and cleft palate research support; and WHEREAS, many members of Arrowhead Parlor have brought honor to San Bernardino by 1 becoming State Native Son Officers, including six Arrowhead members who became Grand Presidents of the order. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, on this occasion, and in appreciation of their leadership, dedication and impressive contribution to the City of San Bernardino and its citizens, we, on behalf of the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino, do enjoin, commend, and extend our best wishes in your future endeavors to NATIVE SONS OF TMC GOLDEN WEST ARROWHEAD PARLOR NO. 110 ON THEDI 125TH ANMVERSARY for their outstanding and exemplary record of public service to the City of San Bernardino.
