3-15-2010 - Mayor and Common Council referred the matter of developing a policy for naming
public facilities to the Legislative Review Committee
3-16-2010— Legislative Review Committee recommended that no action be taken to name any
public facility or amenity until a formal policy is adopted by the Mayor and Common Council

Subiect
Policy for naming City facilities.
Background
At the March 15'"Council Meeting, the Mayor and Common Council approved a motion to refer
the matter of developing a formal policy for the naming of public facilities to the Legislative
Review Committee. At their meeting on March 16a', the Committee reviewed the policies of
several other cities and decided to continue the matter for one month to allow staff time to
address some of the questions that were raised during the meeting. The Committee also
recommended that no action be taken to name any public facility or amenity until a formal policy
is adopted by the Mayor and Common Council and asked staff to prepare an item for Mayor and
Common Council approval.
