The suites are occupied by Assemblyman Baca and the San Bernardino International Airport Authority. When they were improved, the existing heating and air conditioning controls, ducts and thermostats were left in place. The existing heating and air condition system was initially designed for open space offices, and the it is not suitable for the modified suite improvements that have offices enclosed. Unfortunately, the system is not balanced, is enclosed, needs to be ducted differently and redesigned. Because we do not have long-term tenants identified for other areas of the 2nd floor at the present time, we do not think it is practical to convert the entire 2nd floor until modifications are made in conjunction with future leases. Proposals were solicited to redesign the system and provide necessary installation and responses were received from two companies as follows: 1. Thiem Mechanical Co. Inc, at $17,374.00 2. Ontario Refrigeration at $15,874.00 In accordance with the most recent amendment to the Agency's Procurement Policies and Procedures, a purchase order in the amount of $15,874 will be executed after the Community Development Commission receives and files this report.
