A total of 10 bids were received, ranging from $79, 739 to $140 ,103 for Alternate "A. " The low bid of $79, 739 is 11 . 7% below the Engineer' s Estate of $90, 270. The contract documents were prepared with two alternates - "A" for an 18-inch sewer line and "B" for an 8-inch. The differential between these alternates is $17, 392, in the low bid. Below is the total estimated project cost, based upon the actual low bid price for Alternate "A. " Construction Contract (18" Sewer Line) $ 79 ,739 Consultant Design Services 18, 830 Engineering & Inspection (W.O. 1964) 17 , 170 Sub-Total $115 , 779 Contingencies (158) ± 17, 221 TOTAL ESTIMATED PROJECT COST $133,000 An amount of $200, 000 has been allocated for this project, under Account No. 245-365-57885, in the Sewer Line Construction Fund. The City of Loma Linda has agreed to pay the differential in cost between the low bid price for an 8-inch and 18-inch sewer line. An Agreement has been prepared to authorize this payment, and is scheduled for approval by Loma Linda at their Council meeting of 5-11-93. price. L. PAVLICH CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR INSTALLATION OF 3 SEWER IN REDLANDS BOULEVARD, FROM HUNTS LANE TO CLUB WAY. 4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS: 5 6 SECTION 1 . T. L. Pavlich Construction, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder for: Installation of Sewer in Redlands 7 8 Boulevard, from Hunts Lane to Club Way, per Plan No. 8774. A 9 contract for Schedule "A" is awarded accordingly to said bidder for the total amount of $79 ,739 . 00, but such award shall be 10 11 effective only upon the contract being fully executed by both 12 parties. All other bids, therefore, are hereby rejected. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute said contract 13 on behalf of the City; a copy of the contract is on file in the 14 15 office of the City Clerk and incorporated herein by reference as fully as though set forth at length. 16 17 SECTION 2. This contract and anv amendment or modifica- 18 tions thereto shall not take effect or become operative until 19 fully signed and executed by the parties and no party shall be 20 obligated hereunder until the time of such full execution. No 21 oral agreements, amendments, modifications or waivers are 22 intended or authorized and shall not be implied from any act or 23 course of conduct of any party. 24 SECTION 3 .
