Synopsis of Previous Council Action:
October 5, 1998 — The Mayor and Common Council approved Resolution No. 98-278,
amending Resolution No. 6429, entitled in part, "A Resolution . . . establishing a basic
compensation plan for officers and/or employees of the Police and Fire Departments of
the City of San Bernardino."
October 4, 1999 — The Mayor and Common Council established salaries for the Police
and Fire Departments as a result of negotiations required under Charter Section 186.

SUBJECT
Amendments to Resolution No. 6429, Police and Fire Salaries.
BACKGROUND
On October 4, 1999, salaries were established for the following Police and Fire
Department classifications as a result of negotiations required under Charter Section
186.
Police Department
P-1, P-2, P-3 & LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINEE
P-4, P-5, P-6 & P-7
Fire Department
P-1, P-2/PARAMEDIC, P-3, P-4 (CAPTAIN) & P-4 (INVESTIGATOR)
P-5, P-6, P-7, FIRE MARSHAL & TRAINING OFFICER
Section Three of Resolution No. 6429 is being amended to reflect the above Council
actions.
As reflected in the attached Resolution, the Human Resources Department was
directed by the Mayor and Common Council to amend Resolution No. 6429.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no financial impact to amending Resolution No. 6429.
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt Resolution.
