1020- Golden West Landscape Contractor.
Background:
Assessment Districts have been formed to provide for the ongoing maintenance of landscaping in designated
areas. Contracts are awarded and provide for two one-year extensions of the contract on mutually agreeable
terms. This Assessment District has had the same form for the past three years and has been re-bid in
accordance with the contract provisions.
Assessment districts are grouped into areas and/or combined with other districts to form projects of sufficient
size so as to insure bids are competitive and all contractors have adequate work to justify coming into the area.
The areas included in this project are along Rialto Avenue near Pepper; Mill Street near Pepper and Eucalyptus;
Meridian near Randall; Birch Street near Pennsylvania (Tract 14118); and Poplar Street and Burney near Mill
Street in the southwest portion of the community.
Bids were received and opened at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 1, 1998. A total of 7 bids were received and
ranged from a low of $26,398.00 to a high of $34,827.00. The low bid is 19% below the Engineer's Estimate
of$32,570.00
Listed below is the estimated contract cost using the low bid price:
Contract Cost $26,398.00
Incidental Costs (Assessment
Engineering, Inspection, Water,
and Electricity) $16,643.15
TOTAL ESTIMATED ANNUAL COST $43,041.15
Financial Impact:
Funding for the total estimated cost of$43,041.15 is found in Account Nos. 254-648-5506, 254-649-5506, 254-
655-5506, 254-662-5506, 254-681-5506, 254-693-5506 and will be recovered through assessments placed on the
