Staff recommendation: That the Mayor and Common Council

Planning Commission recommendation: Deny the project based
on the fact that the site is unsuitable for senior housing,
and a re-design of the project will be of no benefit because
of location.

NOTICE: Any member of the public may address this meeting of
the Mayor and Common Council on any item appearing on
the agenda, by approaching the microphone in the
Council Chambers when the item about which the member
desires to speak is called, and by asking to be
recognized.
Any member of the public desiring to speak to the Mayor
and Common Council concerning any matter not on the
agenda but which is within the subject matter
jurisdiction of the Mayor and Common Council, may
address the body at the beginning of the meeting,
during the period reserved for public comments, said
total period for public comment shall not exceed forty-
five (45) minutes , unless such time limit is extended

a tent structure from Canvas Specialty for $24,107.07.
MOTION D: That the Executive Director be authorized to conduct a
one-day workshop on options and strategies for new
development in downtown San Bernardino, and to
contract with Project for Public Spaces for $4,200 to
conduct the workshop plus $4,000 for visiting
participants. The workshop will include a tour,
presentation of downtown development proposals, and an
in-depth assessment of the goals and constraints of
the Development Department for downtown.

NOTION: That the Community Development Commission authorize the
Executive Director to: 1) enter into a contract in the
amount of $12,930 for the demolition of existing
improvements within the former restaurant space located
in the old "Thrifty" building, 201 North "E" Street; 2)
authorize the initiation of construction documents
relative to the design and engineering of new common
areas and office space improvements to be located in the
8,400 square foot vacant, Agency-owned commercial space
at the above referenced property; 3) consummate
� negotiations for the acquisition of all property
improvements owned by the San Bernardino Area Chamber of
Commerce located at 542-546 West Sixth Street; 4)
��� � negotiate and enter into a lease agreement between the
