RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO REQUESTING THE
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO CONSOLIDATE THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION WITH THE STATEWIDE PRIMARY ELECTION
TO BE HELD JUNE 8, 1976.

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
Bernardino desire to have submitted to the qualified electors

of said City that certain measure, as hereinafter set forth,
of whether or not proposed amendments to the Charter of the
City of San Bernardino relating to the following:
1. The method and procedures of setting salaries for
Safety Members of the Police and Fire Departments;
increase the pay of police officers assigned to
motorcycle duty; establish a more definitive procedure
for the compensation of Safety Members temporarily
assigned to a higher rank; and modify the definition
of the word shift for the Fire Department and eliminate
other definitions.
2. Provide additional procedures for recalling an office-
holder of the City of San Bernardino.
shall be adopted at a special municipal election to be held on
June 8, 1976; and
WHEREAS, said date is also the date of the statewide
primary election; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that said special municipal
election be consolidated with the statewide primary election
to be held on the same date, that within the City of San Ber-
nardino the precincts, polling places and election officers for
the two elections be the same, that the Board of Supervisors of

1 the County of San Bernardino canvass the returns of the City
2 election, and that said statewide primary election and said
3 City election be held in all respects as if there was only one
4 election,
5 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON
6 COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. That pursuant to Section 23302 of the Elections
8 Code, request is hereby made of the Board of Supervisors of San
9 Bernardino County that said special municipal election, for the
10 purpose of submitting said measures, be consolidated with the
11 statewide primary election to be held on June 8, 1976.

SECTION 2. That the measures to be voted upon at said
13 election, as the same are to appear on the ballot, shall be as
14 follows:

Shall Article X, Section 186 of the
Charter of the City of San Bernardino
be amended as set forth in City
Resolution No. 12327 providing for
the method and procedures for setting
salaries for the Police and Fire :
Departments.

Said measures shall be designated on the ballot by a letter
printed on the left margin of the square containing the de-
scription of the measure, as provided in Section 10231 of the
Elections Code of the State of California.
SECTION 3. Said Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized
to canvass the returns of said City special municipal election
which it is hereby requested to consolidate with said statewide
primary election, and said elections shall be held in all
respects as if there were only one election and only one form of
ballot shall be used.
SECTION 4. Said Board of Supervisors is hereby requested
to issue instructions to the Registrar of Voters to take any and
all steps necessary for the holding of said consolidated election
SECTION 5. The City Clerk of the City of San Bernardino
is hereby directed to file a certified copy of this resolution
with the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Bernardino.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Ber-
nardino at
