POLICE OFFICBRS TO COMPLY WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE FAIR LABOR
STANDARDS ACT (FLSA) FOR CAI&tmAR YEAR 1976.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN BERNARDINO, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Resolution No. 6429, Seotion Seven, is amended
by ohanging Subseotion (f) to read as follows:
IlSECTION SEVEN. (f). It is the intent snd purpose of this
Seotion to oomply with all proposed rules of the Depsrtment of
Labor, Wage snd Hour Division, (29CFR Psrt 553) and to elect,
under Section 553.1(b), to olaim the partial overtime exempti~n
provided in Section 7(k) of the Fair Labor Standsrds Act, as
amended, which applies, not on a workweek basis, but on s work
period basis. The following 28-dsy work periods, therefore, are
established for Fire Department employees engaged in fire pro-
tection activities and for Police Department employees engased i.
law enforcement activities, to begin at 0800 on the first day and
to end at 0800 twenty-eight consecutive daya later, such work
periods to be maintained from January 1, 1976 to Janusry 1, 1977:

The maxiMum number of regular hours worked in any 28-day cycle

SECTION 2. This resolution shall be effective as of
